BIOGRAPHY OF SURYAKUMAR YADAV

 




Suryakumar Yadav is an Indian cricketer who was born on September 14, 1990, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler who plays for the Mumbai cricket team in domestic cricket and the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).


Yadav started his cricketing journey with the Mumbai Under-22 team in 2009 and soon made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2010-11 season. He made a name for himself in domestic cricket with his consistent performances and was soon picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the 2014 IPL season.


After two seasons with KKR, Yadav was bought by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2018 IPL auction for INR 3.2 crore. He was a crucial member of the MI team that won the IPL in 2019 and 2020, playing some crucial knocks in both seasons.


Yadav's consistent performances in domestic cricket and the IPL earned him a call-up to the Indian T20I squad in 2020. He made his debut for India in November 2020 against Australia and has since played a handful of T20Is for the national team.


Yadav is known for his stylish strokeplay and his ability to score quickly in the middle overs. He has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and the IPL and is regarded as one of the most talented batsmen in Indian cricket.


Yadav started playing cricket at a young age and was a part of the Mumbai Under-17 and Under-19 teams. He made his List A debut for Mumbai in 2010 and went on to play in the Ranji Trophy the same year. He played a crucial role in Mumbai's title-winning campaign in the 2012-13 season, scoring 754 runs in 10 matches at an average of 68.54.


Yadav's performances in the domestic circuit earned him a place in the India A team in 2015, where he scored a century against Australia A. He continued to perform consistently for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy, earning a reputation as a dependable middle-order batsman.


In the 2018-19 season, Yadav scored 424 runs in six matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at an average of 60.57. He followed it up with 226 runs in four matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at an average of 75.33.


Yadav's performances in the domestic circuit caught the attention of the national selectors, and he was called up to the Indian T20I squad for the first time in November 2020. He made an immediate impact, scoring a match-winning 57* on debut against Australia in Sydney.


Yadav continued to impress in the T20I series against England in March 2021, scoring a match-winning 57* in the fourth T20I. He was named in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup later that year and played a crucial role in India's campaign, scoring 124 runs in six matches at an average of 62.00.


Yadav's consistent performances in domestic cricket and the IPL, coupled with his impressive showing in international cricket, have made him a valuable asset for the Indian team. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented batsmen in Indian cricket and is expected to play a key role in India's future campaigns.
